Chocolate Box 2019 Letter

General Likes:
Exploration of strange and unique lands. Plot threads and/or characters that don't get much attention in a game, or that get mentioned and then dropped abruptly. People dealing with strange customs. Culture shock. Overcoming differences in the name of friendship/love/family (or whatever.) Complicated relationships. Relationships in the past that have changed with time and separation, sometimes for the better and sometimes not. People who care about each other trying to solve conflict (even if they don't always succeed.) Studies of dysfunctional relationships as dysfunctional. Happy endings for non-dysfunctional relationships, or at least happily-for-now endings. Stories about characters getting the catharsis that they need. Friends becoming lovers, or former lovers who remain good friends.
Squicks:
Non-con, dub-con, character bashing, underage characters + sex, abuse treated as romantic by the narrative.
Art notes:
Historical styles are always fun (impressionism, art nouveau, art deco, baroque, etc....) Alternate costumes and redesigns are great.
These are a few ideas I had for each prompt - things I'd like to see more of but don't have the skill/time/energy to create, or things that I'd like to see other interpretations of. If you have another idea that comes up from the stuff I listed above, go for it.
FFVI, Fanart
Terra/Locke/Celes: Battle scenes with the three against an opponent, with all three of them protecting each other. Domestic scenes after the game ends with the three of them adapting to life without magic. Exploring some of the many strange locales of the new world together. (Esper!Terra is always good.)
Terra + Maduin: Really anything with this - Adult Terra talking to her summoned father, possibly with Terra in Esper form, or Maduin with little baby Terra, for instance.
FFIX, Fanart
Freya/Beatrix or Freya + Beatrix: There's so little about these two and how they interact during or after the game, and a lot of chances for their relationship to shift. I'd really love just about anything you can create for them.
Star Wars: The Old Republic, Fic/Art
Malavai Quinn/Male Sith Warrior: Seeing their reunion on Iokath cemented this for me - Malavai knew exactly how long it had been since they had seen each other, and was so nervous he couldn't bring himself to see him again on Dromund Kaas. Anything about how their relationship progressed either between the class storyline and their separation or after their reunion would be great. Would prefer that they at least have a decent working relationship (no abuse please - some distrust makes perfect sense but I don't like the idea of there being no redemption for the guy at all.)
For art, I'm not terribly picky on the Warrior's appearance. This is probably the only time I'll say it, but I'd prefer Pureblood or Human, because of the nature of the canon SW's background. Cybernetics (and how they affect the SW's senses and thoughts and such if this is in fic) are great.
(Side note: I know the betrayal should've soured it, but I'll be honest; this game has yet to really make me believe in a companion's betrayal attempt. I know it's supposed to be sincere according to Jaesa, but I still can't believe he wouldn't do a better job than that if he really meant to betray the SW.)
Corso Riggs/Male Smuggler: Corso's relationship with the male smuggler is basically my favorite relationship out of the smuggler plotline and I want to see more of it. Daring space adventures, maybe with an adopted kid or two? Corso teaching the PC what he knows about guns? Stuff like that.
Basically any species is great for this one as long as you can justify why they're running around Republic space doing cool stuff (although in this case I DO prefer non-human.) Again, not picky on appearance.
Lana Beniko & Theron Shan: Just about anything concerning them working together would be great. If it's post-SoR then I do want to see the fallout from Lana allowing the capture; if it's post-Nathema then I definitely want to see the two of them coming to terms with what the traitor did. I am also quite fond of the idea of the two of them fighting to keep their Alliance running, while the Commander is still overwhelmed by the idea or doesn't want to be the leader at all. Something similar to that.
