Setzer had lived his life in open defiance of fate ever since he’d first began building his own airship. Gravity was the most steadfast fate of all; everything that flew in the air would eventually fall to the ground.
The ground below was cracking open, throwing gigantic rocks into the sky. He could feel them striking the hull of his ship; one of them flew into a propeller, sending it falling into the ocean below.
His ship was going down. All the years he’d spent fighting gravity were over. He’d struggled against destiny, but he couldn't fight it any further.
