Day Twelve

In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you think would make a good intro into XYZ fandom. Rec a fandom overview, a introductory picspam, stories that define and shape the fandom. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

If at all possible, try to pick a smaller or rarer fandom, one that maybe doesn't have the following you feel it should.

I've already done a lot of reccing for the smaller fandoms that I'm familiar with, or at least the ones that I know there are a lot of fanworks for. And I have a hard time choosing "defining" fanworks for any particular fandom, so I'm not really one to do stuff like that.

I could do relationships, though. So I'm bending the rules a bit.
Just two for now, but I may come back and do more. I'll probably post them separately.

In your own space, ask for recs. Something as simple as "I like XYZ (where XYZ is a kink, a pairing, a trope, etc) - please rec me some." Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

No need for a cut, I think.

Things I haven't really mentioned yet:

- Burn Notice, anything involving Madeline Westen as a major character. Gen is fine. As relationships go I could be convinced to try anything, as long as everyone's in character. (I particularly like Maddie/Virgil and I'm intrigued by Maddie/Sam.) Be sure to let me know what season the fanwork is set in so that I can avoid spoilers until I catch up through S6!

- Homestuck, things about the ashen quadrant and its dynamics. I tend to think of them as three-person relationships but I'm open to other interpretations - I just want to see some fic or meta or art/comics or whatever about how they actually work.

- Any fandom (no, seriously, if I don't know the fandom I'll probably read it anyway, the only things I *might* balk on are fandoms that I'm trying to get caught up on), stories about a romantic triad that include an asexual character, that isn't just all about how complicated it is because character z is asexual but that doesn't ignore the fact of it either. Does that make sense? It's an issue in the story, but not the be-all end-all of their relationship.

Other than that, I'd also love to get recs for anything else I've mentioned in this challenge, too.

YT Fic Pointer

Unfortunately I had to drop my actual YT claim, relatively early on. Work had gotten insane (constant overtime is not fun) and I couldn't work up the energy to carry through with a fic that was actually what the requester would enjoy. Which is a shame, because I liked my prompt; hopefully I'll write it later.

However, during Madness (when I had at least part of the day off for a change and had had a chance to nap for a few hours, and didn't have to work the next morning) I did manage to write a small treat.
