From [personal profile] lassarina. Refer back to the previous two posts if you're wondering what the titles are referring to; everything's linked there.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I wrote a lot more than I expected to, overall. I could've written a lot more if I'd tried, but this is still more than I'd thought.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
BioShock. I did not expect to ever have an idea for that game that would actually work as a story in my head, especially not the core idea for Narcosis.

What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Honestly? Probably Improvisation - it's a complete PWP based on an AU that I haven't written yet, but I think I had more fun writing it than I had anything else this year.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Well, I felt like signing up for [community profile] kink_bingo was a bit of a risk, since I'd never really done anything with kink before. But I think that it worked out, and I think that although I'm not sure that most of my efforts were the best, I learned a little about what this whole "erotic focus" thing means, and how to use it. I think it's expanded my horizons a bit.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? Yes. Write a particular story for a slush submission, finish my NaNo novel, and write at least two NYR stories I didn't get the chance to write last year. There are other things I'd like to do, but those are the ones that I really feel like I should do.

From my past year of writing, what was...

My best story of this year: I really feel like Just Like Annie was probably the best, in my opinion. So many of my other stories feel unfinished, and I can't even say why.

My most popular story of this year: It's a toss-up between Endurance Test and Narcosis.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I was kind of surprised at how little attention Chocolates and Flowers got. Other than that, honestly, when you normally write in tiny fandoms you get used to a lack of attention. ;p

Most fun story to write: Improvisation.

Story with the single sexiest moment: For me? Probably I'd say Acts of Release.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Narcosis. Before I wrote that I'd never considered Augustus Sinclair as either a purveyor of smut or an asexual character. Now it makes so much sense that I have both stuck in my headcanon forever.

Hardest story to write: Acts of Release. Not counting the stuff that was difficult enough that I couldn't finish.

Biggest Disappointment: I'm pleased with Acts of Release as it turned out, but I'm a bit sad that I didn't have the skill to write the story that Acts of Release was originally going to be. Also, all of the unfinished fics that I have after not being able to finish three challenges/big bangs in one year. Sigh.

Biggest Surprise: Didn't I already answer this? Narcosis, hands down. I didn't expect to write it, and after I did write it, I didn't expect it to be nearly as popular as it actually was.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Heh. I'm not sure. Looking at them again, I'd have to guess Endurance Test. ;p

In conclusion: Well. The vast majority of these were written for some challenge or another, which I suppose isn't too surprising. Also, Mass Effect has clearly eaten my brain and I don't expect the third game in March to help matters any. XD
