You’ve had that coin for years; your father gave it to you, part of a game that the two of you played when you were a child. You’d grown older and nearly forgotten the game, but you never forgot the coin, a way of cheating fate.

That’s why you reach for it when Sabin asks to be freed from a King’s life. Fate might’ve been kind, but then again, it might’ve been cruel. And you would not allow anyone to be cruel to your brother.

You want him to be free from this burden.
