wallwalker: A green fruit tree with sparkling fruits surrounded by orange flowers and snowy mountains. (peacetree)

Oops. I hadn't forgotten to write these, but I forgot to post them here. (Also, I'm up to #94; that means I'm done with the actual prompts, and don't really know what to write for the last four or five AC entries. But that's another problem.)

List of all prompts. (The challenge was originally meant for one set of characters, but... no. I can't. That's why I'm doing this unofficially.)

Prompt #21: Moving.
(Star Ocean 2, Claude/Rena/Dias. SFW.)

Dias isn’t ready to stop moving. Trouble and pain first found him in idyllic Arlia, and if he stays in one place, it could find him again.

Claude and Rena understand. Sometimes they travel and fight beside him. Sometimes only one of them can come, while the other has to stay behind to take care of something else. Sometimes, something happens that requires both of them to stay behind, and Dias is alone.

Even being alone feels different now, thanks to them. He likes knowing that there’s someone back home, hoping he’ll return. He’d forgotten how much better that feels.

Prompt #22: Rhythm
(Bastion, Kid/Zia/Zulf. SFW.)

They play together as the Bastion flies. Zia and Zulf know a lot about music, and between their knowledge and Kid’s tinkering, they manage to put together an impressive collection of instruments. (Zia’s still best with the harp, and Kid with drums, and Zulf is a singer first of all. But they have plenty of time to learn.)

They’re not perfectly in sync; Zulf is used to the Ura’s songs, and their rhythms are faster and lighter than the Caelondian marches that Kid learned on the Wall. It takes a while before the three of them find their own style.

Prompt #23: Dance
(Final Fantasy VIII, Squall/Rinoa/Quistis. SFW.)

Rinoa was teaching Quistis to dance.

Squall, who was mostly surprised that Quistis didn’t already know how, mostly stayed out of their way. He’d stand off to the side and watch as Rinoa led Quistis through the steps; she was as good at leading as she had been at following him. Quistis, for all of her grace in combat, was having a bit of trouble with this sort of footwork, but Rinoa never showed any frustration.

They probably wouldn’t let him stay back forever. If there were any ballroom dances for three people, he was sure Rinoa would find them.

Prompt #24: Holding
(Final Fantasy X, Auron/Braska/Jecht. SFW. Spoilers.)

You tried to hold them back, and you couldn’t.

Maybe you just couldn’t understand what they felt. Jecht had left behind his home and his family, and Braska had lost his beloved. You gave up friends and status, but of your own volition; their treasures had been torn from them. Would you have been so willing to sacrifice yourself in their places? You wonder, and the wondering is the worst part.

Their absence is a keener pain than the wounds that killed you, but that pain keeps you here. You failed the ones you loved, and you will redeem yourself.

Prompt #25: Silence.
(Final Fantasy VII OGC, Cloud/Tifa/Aeris. SFW. Injury.)

You’re all very good at staying quiet, when you can’t risk attracting attention.

You’re not surprised; Tifa and Aeris both lived in the slums, where avoiding trouble was easier than fighting it off. You’d learned the same thing, when you....

...when did you...?

Your head throbs, and you push the thought from your mind. You learned, and that’s what matters.

Moving at all is painful; the splint on your leg and the girls on either side of you keep you going, but you’re exhausted. You never could’ve made it if they hadn’t been there. You’ll have to thank them, somehow.
