Prompt #36: Senses
(Final Fantasy VI, Terra/Locke/Celes. SFW)
---
Terra remembered very little about Zozo, but what she did recall was horrifying. Her wild magic had overwhelmed her senses, and all she could do was stumble around, making bestial noises as she tried to call for help. She thought she was going to burn away, there was so much….
The only moment she remembered clearly two sets of hands lifting her up, helping her back to the bed. She saw their faces clearly, Locke watching her with worried eyes, Celes setting her jaw with fierce determination.
They stayed with her and held her hands until she could finally sleep.
Prompt #37: Ice
(Final Fantasy IX, Garnet/Beatrix\Steiner. SFW.)
---
Garnet stuck close to Steiner as they made their way through the icy cave, with Master Vivi and that blasted thief in the lead. Steiner appreciated the trust, but feared he could not save her.
“Don’t worry, Princess,” he said. “We’ll be through this soon.”
“Thank you, Captain Steiner,” she said. Then, very softly: “I wish the General was here.”
He nodded, somehow empty of his usual jealousy. For all of his wounded pride, she always knew what had to be done. She would know how to fix this… this mess.
“As do I, Princess,” he admitted, just as softly.
Prompt #38: Travel
(Final Fantasy VII, Cloud/Tifa/Aeris. SFW.)
---
The buggy’s not so bad, Cloud decides. It’s no motorcycle, but it’s easier on his stomach than trucks. He might not’ve been sick all the time if he’d been able to ride in the open air.
They’re taking turns driving; right now Tifa has the wheel, and she’s slower, careful to stay on the roads. Aeris, on the other hand, liked to run off-road at full speed, just to feel the wind in her hair.
He’ll introduce them to better vehicles when this is over. Then Tifa wouldn’t be so nervous, and Aeris could go as fast as she wanted.
Prompt #39: Awkward
(Legend of Zelda, Link/Zelda/Ganondorf. SFW)
--
Scholars studying the legend of the Triforce have speculated for generations about the three fated to carry their burden. Why would the goddesses place these remarkable souls in eternal stalemate?
Many believe that it was never meant to be eternal. Someday, when they can transcend their fates, they will be granted the right to rule over Hyrule hand-in-hand, using the power of the complete Triforce. At last their fates as enemies would be broken, and a golden age of prosperity would begin.
(They keep their extensive writings hidden from view. Having one of the three discover it would be… awkward.)
Prompt #40: Comfortable
(Final Fantasy VIII, Squall/Rinoa/Quistis. SFW.)
---
Rinoa is sleeping, calm at last, her eyes closed tight. Squall sits beside her, cradling Rinoa’s head in his lap. He hasn’t slept well either, but he’s trained for it. So is Quistis; nights are often sleepless, in their profession.
Rinoa’s comfortable now; the Dreams are subsiding, slipping from memory. What force do Sorceresses tap into that shows them horrors? Quistis doesn’t know, even after spending hours on her research. All she and Squall can do is give her peace.
They remember her words, so that she won’t have to. Loving her makes hearing them no easier, but more worthwhile.
