Title: An Ancient Dream
Fandom: Fallen London
Rating: T (no explicit or violent content, rated for creepiness)
Length: 100 words
Summary: Dreaming in the library.
Notes: This is from the point of view of my current main OC, Lt. Markov. I'm still trying to get used to his voice and to research enough about his nationality and time period to make sense of writing about him.

The old soldier slept in his library, an old book on his chest. He did not remember it having been so heavy.
North, something whispers in his dreams, dry as the book’s old and dusty pages. Candlelight flickers around him and the book catches (but there IS no book, and all that catches is something deep within him, something that wants and wants.) Deep in this prison, splotched with mold, once revered but only bones and tatters. No more postponing. No more prison. All will be –
He wakes before the whisper finishes, wipes his chin. He's suddenly, damnably hungry.
